Glenn was born in Temuka, New Zealand. He strongly identifies with the values and beliefs that form such a strong base of the New Zealand culture. Glenn is also proud of his Irish heritage, his mother Maureen immigrated to New Zealand from Belfast in the early 1950’s and he has many relatives still living there. Glenn has spent a number of years living and working in Australia and this has also been an important part of his development.
Glenn’s early years were very much focused on sport with Rugby dominating although his last serious games were played in Sydney where he tried unsuccessfully to be selected for a Professional Rugby League team. With his fathers’ wise words echoing in his ear “might want to get a real job now son!” Glenn made his way into the pharmaceutical industry where he had a very productive career in sales and marketing which included 2.5 years living and working in Japan. Now he is doing some consulting. Glenn is married with 2 children.
Music was always a part of his life, both parents loved to sing and his Dad played the guitar. He started playing the guitar and writing songs in his teens and his guitar was a constant companion wherever he travelled.
Glenn is really doing his musical career back to front – now that his children have finished school he is better able to focus on completing many of the songs he has started over the years and writing many new ones. He is also looking to utilise his excellent marketing skills to develop marketing/brand campaigns based on his songs.
Glenn’s songs are noted for their strong lyrics which evoke real emotional responses and paint clear pictures.
“I have seen and experienced many things and I have something to say!”
